At Keen, we talk a lot about our distribution channel being on the iPhone, but it’s only our first test application. We are quickly moving towards getting as many people as possible onto our mobile distribution platform. Either I’m hearing more about new accessibility initiatives with captioning / as well as goof-ups, or I’m paying more attention to the news. I thought I’d share a few with you!
1. The FCC is listening. Apple plays nice

We’ve been following the details of the upcoming iPhone OS 3.0 software release, and more so the related updates to the Apple App store. Some of the key things that opens up the door for a new and improved user experience for Keen clients include:
- The App store now allow for a subscription model with additional levels/content within an App
- Devices allow for peer-to-peer communication (including integration with third party devices) across Bluetooth and dock
- ~1,000 new API’s, amongst others allowing embedded maps in an App and streaming audio/video through http
- Allowance for push notification in Apps
